A false start You end up going nowhere Waiting for an answer To a question you can’t even ask You walk on Inventing people you pass by Writing them a story Business men who ride the train alone Oh But I heard no one’s ever born here They just show up one day With nowhere to go And nothing to say It feels great The chance to be so nervous It proves you really want it You’d wait in line a mile just for your chance You’re up next You hear the hostess tell them As she ushers in the new kids They’re here to take the place you thought was yours But I heard no one’s ever born here They just show up one day With nothing to do And nothing to say The seventh story studio where you stay You watch the lights come on across the way The skyline’s full of burnt out people just tryna get ahead of the day On your way out the door they hear you say Tonight’s the night I let it all fly I'm gonna say everything that’s on my mind I’m gonna step on out and step over the line And out into the night

I'm a Snake 04:00
It’s not the bite that kills you it’s the venom that finds its way in Oh I’ve been waiting to hear you say you gotta cut it off if you wanna live Its self-prophetic the way we call it quits, say we changed, then come back again And each time it feels the same That’s how I know that I can’t stay here one more day and repeat myself to repeat myself And I’ve run out of things to say so I’ll repeat myself, repeat myself it's all over now I’m a snake it’s all over now yeah, I’m a snake It’s all over now It’s all over now Shed my skin again, embrace the monster underneath all of this time Talking in circles, my tail I swallow starting to believe my own damn lies Cause I might be a snake, but what's the to a snakecharmer And oooh the way you play I can’t hide any longer Now I pray im the prey, cause if I’m not I’m the hunter baby so shoot your shot I can’t stay here one more day and repeat myself to repeat myself And I’ve run out of things to say so I’ll repeat myself, repeat myself it's all over now I’m a snake it’s all over now yeah, I’m a snake It’s all over now It’s all over now If I follow you then I will lose my own way, lose my own way So I stay away Make up these stupid games And lose my own way, lose my own way From blurred lines to one last tries Never getting off on served time I fake my death Change my name To somebody who can stay the same for you Always for you Always for you Always for You She said the night is true the night can slip past you It’s gone Dancing on the floor She said the night is true the night can slip past you It’s gone Dancing on the floor And you can’t take me through these changes anymore Anymore Cause I can’t stay here one more day and repeat myself to repeat myself And I’ve run out of things to say so I’ll repeat myself, Repeat myself I’m a Snake Repeat myself I’m a Snake Repeat myself I’m a Snake Repeat myself I’m a Snake Repeat myself I'm a Snake

ETA 03:44
I must’ve read your text a thousand times Before I went to bed And even now when I recollect I don't know what you meant Maybe I’ll understand When I see you face to face And you tell me out loud And press your face to my face When’ll we get there what’s our ETA Tell me you love tell me face to face When’ll we get there what’s our ETA Tell me what’s stopping you what's in your way I know you’re not so far away I must've called your phone a thousand times But when you pick up I can never speak Sent me flowers on my birthday Before we ever had our first date I know you’re bored and home alone You don't have to be all alone Sitting on my bedroom floor Reading all your texts again On my phone wondering Are all these snaps just for me Then why’d you turn off read receipts Three days after you said that you love me Maybe I’ll understand When I see you face to face And you tell me out loud And press your face to my face When’ll we get there what’s our ETA Tell me you love tell me face to face When’ll we get there what’s our ETA Tell me what’s stopping you what's in your way I know you’re not so far away How am I supposed to sleep When you think I believe You mean it when you say you miss me? Chat rooms and message boards So soon they start to bore So get in your parents car come kiss me I need to know When’ll we get there And when are you gonna let me go I need to know When’ll we get there And when are you gonna let me go I surrender

Pristine 04:01
I hear you can’t feel clean Til you’ve been through the mud Is that too much I hear you don’t feel the pain Until the bullet’s left the gun Is that just love When you’re out there alone all I want is to know Are you staying pristine are you staying so I thought that ghosts only appear Out the corner of your eyes gripped by fear Then why am I still searching for a sign When I know there’s nothing left to find I thought that ghosts’re supposed to disappear When you look them in the eyes Then why are you here Shining brighter than ever before Oh baby come haunt me just one more You know the dreams in which we’re happy are the hardest to wake up from every night They only serve to remind I know I shouldn’t get my hopes up Waiting for a sign from a burnt out beacon once again Does that mean this is the end When you’re out there alone all I want is to know Are you thinking of me cause I’ve been thinking of you Every goddamn night for a year Oh my god take me back it's all that I want to hear Fantasy, it's on the tip of your tongue Wait and see Damage can’t be undone We come undone I thought that ghosts only appear Out the corner of your eyes gripped by fear Then why am I still searching for a sign When I know there’s nothing left to find I thought that ghosts’re supposed to disappear When you look em in the eyes Then why are you here Shining brighter than ever before Oh baby come haunt me just one more Cause I knew who you were when you weren't yourself Now you’re someone else Better than the you I knew But the old you haunts you too I thought that ghosts only appear Out the corner of your eyes gripped by fear Then why am I still searching for a sign When I know there’s nothing left to find I thought that ghosts’re supposed to disappear When you look em in the eyes Strangers come but they never go Leave you longing for Ghosts Ghosts Ghosts

We need to find a better way to get away from all the things that we say wrong we don’t know when to say them we don’t know when to play dumb Never felt like interrogations before we waited for too long To make our lovesick confessions and we’ve waited for too long too long I thought that this was your love song got the tenses all wrong I thought that this was your love song Pulled away now you’re gone you’re gone You’re the getaway driver who drove away too soon without any of the pain without any of the pursuit you’re the getaway driver drive as far as you can drive away from me baby drive away from our plans There’s a ghost at the door and she’s calling our name if we don’t let her in things’ll end just the same the same the same I thought that this was your love song got the tenses all wrong I thought that this was your love song Pulled away now you’re gone you’re gone You’re the getaway driver who drove away too soon without any of the pain without any of the pursuit you’re the getaway driver drive as far as you can drive away from me baby drive away from our plans They say as gamblers That we long to lose now look at us baby tell em that we’re proof

Start 2 04:14
How come you go away Everytime your edges fade Til there’s nothing left Just a shade of gray That I can’t get through to I look in the mirror I’m wearing all of your clothes So I check the pockets For secret codes But there’s nothing there Just a shade of gray That I can't get through to I just can't get through to Once there was gold And I was king of this town But gold rushes and it flows Leaves echos in the ground Then… Darkness comes at the margins and the cracks And it never goes It never goes Until it goes black And there's nothing left Just a shade of gray That I can't get through to I just can't get through to I just can't get through to And it's all but over There's no real ending And it's all but over You look cold and empty And it's all but over It's all but over I just can’t get through to I just can't get through to

Speedrunner 04:02
Wish you could see me now you’re gone Twenty two years wasted all our good times Chasing taillights No wrong turns, ride right home each time Speedin’ towards those red lights I'm on my way now Cause I'm driving for the first time in a while Ride on by places we used to go And I ride on Just ride on by Cause I was such a speedrunner Missing out And you would take your time Don't stop for gas anymore I haven't got the time Pick you up where we left off When I run the tank dry Can't sit still anymore Without my hands on the wheel Pushin ninety nine Out run the headlights Time after time after time after And half the time I’m outta time Cause I'm driving for the first time in a while Ride on by places we used to go And I ride on Just ride on by Cause I was such a speedrunner Missing out And you would take your time I’ve been racing against time Trying my best to find a way Live my life in just one day Oh my god what can I say I’ve been up against the clock Then I hit the same roadblocks Always forward never back Lit it up and burnt to black From the day you’re born To the day you’re in the ground Gotta grab for more and more Pretty soon you won’t be around No (x42)

Come By 04:26
You stumble around This old house But you’ll never leave Cause you’re tied to a hole in the wall You trip and you’ll fall Over your cords You need someone to come around And pick you up off of the ground I’ll try to come by I’ll try to come by I’ll try to come by When I have time Your voice is stilted and weird Are you doing okay Coasts to ghosts Ghosts move away So I pick up the phone And I try to call But there’s no point in dialing There's no point at all I’ll try to come by I’ll try to come by I’ll try to come by When I have time Your head’ll collapse Before you die The end of the world The end of time But I tried to come by I tried to come by I tried to come by When I could find The time

The Vampire 04:47
Just as the vampire courts his pray Just as the vampire courts his pray You’re caught in the bathroom You’re caught in the bathroom Waiting for day This one’s still kicking This one's still breathing out it’s mouth Please could you kill her I can’t look at it anymore As you’re waiting for day Oh or was it the day your luck would change Oooo bloodsucker Oooo bloodsucker Oooo bloodsucker Oooo bloodsucker As you’re waiting for day Oh or was it the day your luck would change The strings grow louder The bass is ripping through your bones Everybody’s watching Don't you know it's you they’re staring at But it's been written So she’s been bitten Everyone is watching And you’re just frozen to the spot As you’re waiting for day Oh or was it the day your luck would change Oooo bloodsucker Oooo bloodsucker Oooo bloodsucker Oooo bloodsucker As you’re waiting for day Oh or was it the day your luck would change Nonono Nonono Nonono Nonono Nonono Nnonono NO Ghost bike rider Baby tooth dealer She's got you by the grips of your desire now? Tell me what does it take To truly lose your shit Is there anywhere left Daylight don’t hit Day’s never coming Day never comes for you Oh Nightmares are all you get Nightmares are all you get Nightmares are all you get Nightmares are all you get

Angels 03:44
Beneath his T-shirt there are wings A castle in the sky he lies within A space suit I’ll wear your body bare Suspended in time and standing there Taken in my arms Crushed like a bug If we’re not a match then I’ll cover my head in phosphorus and light it up Angel please Never let me alone again But I know you Like my tongue knows the back side of my teeth The back side of my teeth And I was born to meet you Said the angel on the moon Angel on the moon Angel please Never let me alone again I think I feel the darkness within me now… When you’re following an angel Doesn’t mean you have to Throw your body off the building Somewhere she's standing on a pinhead Calling you an angel Calling you the nicest things I head there’s a space program Where you sing you can’t hear there’s no air Sometimes I think I kinda like that plan Sometimes I think i’m already there

Now… The disco queen misses the high note of her third set of the night She wipes her sweat to the ground of the second best bar in the worst part of town She looks in pain But you can’t help to think The way they’d look to you if you were in her place You walk to the door as you think… Out the window The city’s like a river Always pressing onward You try to ride the currents while you can So you pull up to the blacktop now And you let your last shot out You fall to your knees and you scream so loud but no one seems to care But I heard, You weren't even born here you just showed up One day Hoping the city would show you the way The dark of the city night The skyline’s lite up neon blue and white It shows you why it is you try So hard just for a chance Out the window The city’s like a river Always pressing onward You try to ride the currents while you can So you pull up to the blacktop now And you let your last shot out You fall to your knees and you scream so loud but no one seems to care Only you You’re gonna make em notice you All your life at your feet and the wind at your back The city’s inside you too. Out the window The city’s like a river Always pressing onward You try to ride the currents while you can So you pull up to the blacktop now And you let your last shot out You fall to your knees and you scream so loud but no one seems to care

about

Only in making these songs to work through the years of loss and hardship I’d experienced-- the death of my father, difficult breakups, Covid-19, coming to terms with my identity as a trans woman-- was I able to get a look at who I am separated from the circumstances of my life.
